The REAL Armour Project. Year 1311

What is REAL armour anyway and I am sure that this seems a bit daft, an armourer making himself REAL armour but I will explain. I want to make something from the past that does what it is meant to do in the way it was made to do it. I want to make it as authentically as I can.

The action statement as they sometimes call it is:

To make myself a copy of the armour depicted in the effigy of Sir Nicholas Carew in the year 1311. I will make the armour including all relevant undergarments using as far as possible materials and tools that were available at the time.

Any and all developments, thoughts and problems will be noted and placed on these pages.
